7.  Take time to get to know your weapon.  Ten rounds shot occasionally is in no way going to allow you to be comfortable with your gun.  One way you can get to know your weapon is do a lot of dry fire at home.  Is it loaded??  Never assume, Check.  Learn until it is second nature to know how your gun's trigger feels.  Feel where the take-up is and where the trigger fires the weapon.

8.  Take good care of your weapon.  Learn to break it down, clean it and oil it to maintain it in good operating condition.  Remember too much oil is way worse for your gun than anything you can do.  Use a good lubricant sparingly.

Our right to carry a weapon concealed is more of a responsibility than driving a car.  To keep this right, we must make sure we take it seriously and not become complacent and allow others to tell us we are not capable of using the right.

Always be vigilant, watch out for people that will want to take this away from us.  In this same breath, be sure you always respect the power you have and never be a showoff.
